Prepare Squarespace Products, Customers, Orders, and optional blog content export files for Next-Cart source data file upload.
Squarespace Source Data Export
Section titled “Squarespace Source Data Export”A complete Squarespace export gives Next-Cart the source files required by the selected migration path.
When to use this guide
Section titled “When to use this guide”Use this guide when:
- Squarespace is the Source Platform;
- Next-Cart shows source data file upload for Squarespace;
- you need to prepare Products, Customers, Orders, and optional blog content files before upload.
Prerequisites
Section titled “Prerequisites”Before you begin, confirm that:
| Requirement | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Squarespace site access | You need permission to open Commerce or Selling areas and export store data. |
| Customer or contact export permission | Customer exports may be managed from Commerce, Contacts, or customer groups depending on the site setup. |
| Order export permission | The account must be allowed to export order data. |
| Blog export decision | Export blog content only if it is in the approved migration scope. |
| Secure storage location | Prepare a local folder for CSV and XML files. |
Data types to export

| Customers | customers.csv or contacts CSV | Export the approved customer group or all relevant contacts. |

Before you export
Section titled “Before you export”Create a folder such as:
source-exports/└── squarespace/ ├── products/ ├── customers/ ├── orders/ └── blog-content/Export the files
Section titled “Export the files”- Sign in to Squarespace.
- To export products, go to Commerce > Inventory or Selling > Products.
- Select Export all and download the products CSV.
- To export customers, go to Commerce > Customers or Contacts > Customers.
- Select the approved group, such as Customers, Subscribers, Donors, or All contacts.
- Open the actions menu and choose Export All Profiles or Export All Contacts.
- Confirm the export and download the customers CSV.
- To export orders, go to Commerce > Orders or Selling > Orders.
- Apply only the approved status or date filters, then select Export or Download CSV.
- Download the orders CSV.
- If blog content is in scope, go to Settings > Advanced > Import / Export.
- Select Export, choose the WordPress option, wait for processing, and download the blog XML file.
Organize the exported files

Keep the original file names where possible. If you add context, include only the export date or scope label.
Expected result
Section titled “Expected result”You have Squarespace Products, Customers, Orders, and optional blog content files ready for upload to Next-Cart.
Verify the export
Section titled “Verify the export”| Check | Pass condition |

| Products | The products CSV contains the expected products. |
| Customers | The customers or contacts CSV contains the approved customer group. |
| Orders | The orders CSV covers the required status and date range. |
| Blog content | The XML file is present if blog content is in scope. |
| File integrity | CSV and XML files open without corruption and retain original headers or structure. |
If the export is incomplete
Section titled “If the export is incomplete”| Issue | What to check |

| Products are missing | Re-export from the product or inventory area and confirm no unintended filters were applied. |
| Customers are missing | Confirm the selected contact group contains the expected customer records. |
| Orders are incomplete | Check status and date filters before exporting again. |
| Blog XML is missing | Confirm blog content is in scope and repeat the WordPress-format export. |
| Content formatting differs from the source site | Treat styling and layout as target-side content work unless a specific Custom Service requirement is approved. |
| Required data is not available in standard exports | Document the missing data and submit it as a Custom Service requirement. |
