Overview
Find every supported Source and Target Platform, confirm its assigned connection method and required Connect Stores values, then open the correct setup guide.
Connect Your Source and Target Platforms
Section titled “Connect Your Source and Target Platforms”Use Connect Stores to establish the Source and Target connections for the intended Demo or paid migration. Provide the setup assigned to each selected platform and role rather than substituting another connection workflow.
What Each Connection Method Does
Section titled “What Each Connection Method Does”KitConnect uses a bridge installed in the store’s public web root. It requires the hosting/file access and runtime prerequisites described in Install KitConnect. The folder is account-specific; installation is not permission to rename it or to assume every database field is supported.
API uses the platform’s supported credentials or app authorization. Create or authorize access in the external platform, then provide the exact role-specific values required by Connect Stores. Use the linked platform guide for credential preparation, permissions, and platform exceptions.
File Upload supplies a supported Source export rather than a live Source connection. Prepare the files from the relevant export guide, upload the accepted structure, and review the scan. The Target still requires its own setup. A file captures exported data; it does not provide a continuing feed of later source changes.
The method controls how Next-Cart receives or accesses data. It does not independently decide data-type coverage, Attribute Mapping, Add-on eligibility, or Custom scope. A passing access check and a supported migration requirement are different conclusions.
Supported Source Platforms
Section titled “Supported Source Platforms”The Source directory mirrors the supported Source selections. For a File Upload setup, the Required Values column lists only Connect Stores fields; the exact entity files belong to Source Data Export Guides.
When one platform family has multiple supported editions with different setup requirements, each edition remains a separate row. Use the family overview link in Connection Guides to compare the editions before opening the edition-specific procedure.

CSV, XLS, and XML are file-based Custom Service Source selections with an included Products-only workflow. Additional entities or non-standard processing require an approved Custom Service scope.
Supported Target Platforms
Section titled “Supported Target Platforms”Use the Target table independently from the Source table. A migration path can require different connection methods and values on each side.

If the required platform is not listed for the intended role, define the requirement through Prepare Custom Service Requirements rather than selecting a similar platform.
Migration platform support is directional
Section titled “Migration platform support is directional”A platform appearing in the Source directory does not mean that it is available as every Target, and a Target Platform does not imply that every Source can migrate to it with the same data scope. Resolve support as a directional Source Platform -> Target Platform path.
After confirming the platform pair, review the data types and connection setup for that exact path. A platform may also have role-specific methods or fields, so do not reuse a Source procedure for the Target unless the directory explicitly points to the same guide. If the required platform or data scope is not represented by the supported path, define it through Prepare Custom Service Requirements instead of substituting a similar platform.
Connection tasks
Section titled “Connection tasks”Confirm the store identity before continuing
Section titled “Confirm the store identity before continuing”For a paid migration, Test Connection confirms access but does not lock a Store URL. The applicable lock is created only when the completed Connect Stores setup is saved and the migration advances to Configuration. Review Store URL Locking and Store Identity before continuing when a Source setup has no URL field, a later Target change is planned, or a Lightspeed edition change can add another lock.
Continue to Configuration
Section titled “Continue to Configuration”After the required Source and Target setups are complete, click Continue to Configuration to open Configuration. Test Connection is optional; use Test Platform Connections for access checks and failure feedback.
