Configure Advanced Database Mapping
Map supported database fields or columns only after exact Source, Target, schema, and Value Type eligibility is confirmed.
Configure Advanced Database Mapping
Section titled “Configure Advanced Database Mapping”Advanced Database Mapping routes supported database data to eligible Target Store fields or columns. Availability is determined in layers: the exact Source setup must support Advanced Database Mapping, the selected Target Platform must support it, and the requested schema destination must be supported and able to represent the value correctly.
Use Advanced Database Mapping Platform Eligibility for Source and Target role support, then use the Advanced Database Mapping Schema Registry to qualify the requested entity, table, field, column, and Value Type.
Configure a mapping
Section titled “Configure a mapping”- Confirm Advanced Database Mapping support for the exact Source setup and Target Platform.
- Confirm that the requested source and target database locations are present in the supported schema scope and have compatible Value Types.
- Expand Advanced Database Mapping.
- Select an entity and click Add Mapping.
- Select the Source Field for the database value to route.
- Select the supported Target Field that should receive the value.
- When the active supported scope allows a new target database field, select New Column and complete Custom Target Field.
- Add another rule inside the same Entity Mapping when another supported database field requires routing.
Example: map a database field to the corresponding target field
Section titled “Example: map a database field to the corresponding target field”When the active migration exposes the supported Manufacturers fields, configure:
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Entity | Manufacturers |
| Source Field | Column name |
| Target Field | Column name |
This routes the supported source database value to the corresponding target database field without changing the value.
Rule order and removal
Section titled “Rule order and removal”Advanced Database Mapping rules run from top to bottom.
- Click x to remove an individual mapping rule.
- Use the remove control for the Entity Mapping to delete the entire mapping group.
Next Steps
Section titled “Next Steps”If Custom follows Add-ons, continue to Custom. If Add-ons is the final Configuration screen, use Go to Migration, then continue to Start and Monitor a Migration.
