Printify API Connection

Prepare Printify API connection values for a Next-Cart migration service when API setup is shown for Printify.

A valid Printify API connection gives Next-Cart the authorized platform access required by the selected migration path.

Next-Cart may ask for a Printify API Token. Prepare a personal access token from the correct Printify account before you test the connection.

Use this guide when:

  • Printify is the Source Platform or Target Platform in your selected migration path;
  • Next-Cart shows Printify API setup;
  • Next-Cart asks for an API Token or related Printify connection value.

Before you begin, confirm that:

RequirementWhy it matters
Printify account accessYou need access to the Printify account connected to the correct shop.
Permission to create tokensThe account must allow personal access token generation.
Scope decisionsYou need to know which data types Next-Cart must access.
Secure storageAPI credentials should be copied only into approved secure locations.
Required valueWhere to prepare itNotes
API TokenPrintify My Profile > ConnectionsGenerate a personal access token and copy it immediately.
  1. Sign in to Printify with the account connected to the correct shop.
  2. Open My Profile.
  3. Open Connections.
  4. Go to the Personal Access Tokens area.
  5. Generate a new token.
  6. Set token access scopes that match the data included in the migration scope, such as shops, catalog, products, and orders where required.
  7. Copy the generated API Token immediately into a secure temporary location.

In the Next-Cart connection setup screen, enter only the values requested by the interface.

CheckPass condition
Account matchThe token belongs to the Printify account connected to the selected shop.
Scope readinessThe token scopes cover the data Next-Cart must access.
Token completenessThe full token is copied immediately after generation.
Connection testNext-Cart can authenticate and read supported Printify data.
IssueWhat to check
Authentication errorGenerate a new token and copy it again.
Missing data accessReview token scopes and include the data areas shown by Next-Cart.
Wrong accountSign in to the Printify account connected to the correct shop and generate a new token.
Rate or access issueWait and test again, or confirm that the token has the required scopes.

After migration work is complete and verified:

  • remove or revoke temporary API credentials where the platform provides that option;
  • reduce access if a broader permission set was used only for migration work;
  • remove copied credentials from insecure notes, tickets, chats, or shared files;
  • review the store admin account or API user used for API setup.
