Prepare CoreCommerce API credentials for a Next-Cart migration service when API setup is shown for your selected platform.
CoreCommerce API Connection
Section titled “CoreCommerce API Connection”A valid CoreCommerce API connection gives Next-Cart the authorized platform access required by the selected migration path.
Next-Cart may ask for CoreCommerce API credentials so it can access the supported data needed for migration. Prepare the values in CoreCommerce first, then enter them in the Next-Cart connection setup screen.
When to use this guide
Section titled “When to use this guide”Use this guide when:
- CoreCommerce is the Source Platform or Target Platform in your selected migration path;
- Next-Cart shows API setup for CoreCommerce;
- you have permission to enable API access and create external access keys in CoreCommerce.
Prerequisites
Section titled “Prerequisites”Before you begin, confirm that:

| Credential storage is secure | API credentials should be copied once and stored safely until setup is complete. |
Required values

Set up CoreCommerce API credentials
Section titled “Set up CoreCommerce API credentials”- Sign in to the CoreCommerce Admin Dashboard.
- Go to Settings.
- Open API Settings.
- Enable API access if it is not already enabled.
- Note the API Username shown in the API Settings area.
- Save the API Settings page.
- Under Settings, open External Access Keys.
- Create a new external access key.
- Use a clear name, such as
Next-Cart Migration. - Save the key.
- Copy the generated API Key and store it securely.
Enter the values in Next-Cart
Section titled “Enter the values in Next-Cart”In the Next-Cart connection setup screen for CoreCommerce, enter the values requested by the interface.

Expected result
Section titled “Expected result”The CoreCommerce API values are ready to test in Next-Cart.
Verify the connection
Section titled “Verify the connection”After entering the values, run the connection test in Next-Cart.

If the connection fails
Section titled “If the connection fails”| Issue | What to check |

| Authentication error | Re-copy the API Username and API Key. Check for extra spaces. |
| API disabled | Return to CoreCommerce API Settings and confirm API access is enabled. |
| Missing permission | Confirm the admin account can enable API access and create external access keys. |
| Wrong store | Confirm the credentials were created in the CoreCommerce store used for the selected migration path. |
| Key no longer works | Create a fresh external access key and replace the value in Next-Cart. |
Security cleanup
Section titled “Security cleanup”After migration work is complete and verified:
- remove or disable the external access key if it is no longer needed;
- keep only the credential records required for support or audit purposes;
- rotate any temporary admin password used to create the key.
