Configure Additional Options
Configure source-reading, target-writing, URL, notification, and reporting behavior for the migration.
Configure Additional Options
Section titled “Configure Additional Options”Additional Options control how Next-Cart reads source records, writes data to the target store, and reports the migration outcome. Review each option against the intended result before enabling it, especially when it resumes earlier work, limits the source scope, or changes existing target data.
Additional Options are organized into three groups:
- Source Platform Options control how source records are read;
- Target Platform Options control how records are written to the target store;
- General Options control URLs, notifications, and reporting.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”Confirm that:
- Data selection is complete;
- the intended source-record scope is documented;
- existing target records have been reviewed;
- a recovery method is available before destructive target clearing;
- representative records are prepared to validate each enabled option.
Source Platform Options
Section titled “Source Platform Options”These options affect how Next-Cart reads records from the source store.
Continue the previous migration
Section titled “Continue the previous migration”Enable Continue the previous migration to resume an interrupted migration from the point where processing last stopped instead of starting the affected work again.
Use it when:
- a migration activity was interrupted before completion;
- the same migration context and configuration remain valid;
- Next-Cart has retained a resumable processing position.
Do not use it merely because a previous migration completed successfully.
Migrate only newly added entities
Section titled “Migrate only newly added entities”Enable Migrate only newly added entities to process only records added to the source store since the last successful migration run.
This option does not mean “new or updated.” Existing source records that were modified after the previous successful run are not newly added records.
Use it when:
- a previous migration completed successfully;
- the source store remained active;
- only newly created eligible records should be read in the next activity.
Target Platform Options
Section titled “Target Platform Options”These options control how selected records are written to the target store. Review existing target data and recovery requirements before enabling an option that can delete, replace, or alter stored values.
Clear data on Target Store before Migration
Section titled “Clear data on Target Store before Migration”This option deletes existing target records for the selected data types before importing from the source store.
Do not combine target-data clearing with a restricted source-reading scope without confirming the result. For example, clearing all selected Product records while migrating only newly added Products can leave the target store without previously migrated Products.
Strip HTML tags from category and product names
Section titled “Strip HTML tags from category and product names”Enable this option to remove HTML markup from Category and Product name fields so the target receives plain-text names.
It does not remove HTML from complete Product or Category descriptions.
Import description images to Target Store
Section titled “Import description images to Target Store”Enable this option to download and re-upload images embedded in supported description fields to the target store media environment.
Successful import depends on source accessibility, file format, file size, authentication, CDN or firewall rules, and target-platform restrictions.
Preserve Customer IDs on Target Store
Section titled “Preserve Customer IDs on Target Store”Enable this option to attempt to retain source Customer IDs where the target platform supports preservation.
Check for existing target Customer IDs before execution. A conflict can prevent the original source ID from being used.
Preserve Order IDs on Target Store
Section titled “Preserve Order IDs on Target Store”Enable this option to attempt to retain source Order IDs or order numbers where supported.
Check whether the target platform preserves the value as the internal ID, displayed order number, or another reference field.
General Options
Section titled “General Options”These options support URL continuity, completion notifications, and migration reporting. Select them according to the validation and operational evidence the project requires.
Migrate SEO URLs of categories, products, posts and pages
Section titled “Migrate SEO URLs of categories, products, posts and pages”Enable this option to transfer supported source URL slugs or handles for Categories, Products, Posts, and Pages.
Target URL rules can still change the final path. Prepare a validation list of high-value URLs.
Create 301 redirects for migrated URLs
Section titled “Create 301 redirects for migrated URLs”Enable this option to create supported permanent redirects from old source URLs to their target destinations.
This option is separate from migrating SEO URLs. URL transfer controls the target path where supported; redirects control how old URLs route to the new result.
Send email notification on migration completion
Section titled “Send email notification on migration completion”Enable this option to receive a completion email with available record counts, errors, and the migration summary.
Confirm that the account email can receive Next-Cart notifications.
Generate a detailed migration report
Section titled “Generate a detailed migration report”Enable this option when you need a downloadable CSV report of migrated, skipped, and failed records, where supported.
Use the report during validation and troubleshooting.

Review important interactions
Section titled “Review important interactions”| Combination | What to confirm |
|---|---|
| Migration action + source-reading option | The action controls the execution path; the option controls which source records are read. Both must match the intended result. |
| Continue the previous migration + changed configuration | The interrupted processing state is still compatible with the current configuration. |
| Migrate only newly added entities + target-data clearing | Previously migrated target records will not be deleted while only a small new subset is imported. |
| Clear Customers + Preserve Customer IDs | No target-only Customers must be retained, and source IDs will not conflict after clearing. |
| Clear Orders + Preserve Order IDs | No target-only Orders must be retained, and preserved numbering remains valid. |
| Migrate SEO URLs + create 301 redirects | The intended target URLs and old-to-new redirect pairs are both supported and testable. |
| Completion email + detailed report | The account receives the notification and the report is downloaded before the service record is closed. |
Expected result
Section titled “Expected result”After completing Options:
- source-reading behavior matches the migration state;
- target-writing behavior matches the approved result;
- destructive clearing is approved and recoverable;
- URL and redirect behavior is defined;
- completion notification and reporting are configured where required;
- the migration is ready for Attribute Mapping.
Verify the configuration
Section titled “Verify the configuration”| Check | Pass condition |
|---|---|
| Source scope | Resume or newly-added-only behavior matches the intended source records. |
| Target clearing | The deletion scope is approved and a recovery method is available. |
| IDs | Customer and Order ID conflicts have been reviewed. |
| Images | Representative embedded images are accessible and target-compatible. |
| URLs | Priority source URLs and expected target destinations are documented. |
| Redirects | Required old-to-new routes can be tested after migration. |
| Notification | The intended recipient can receive Next-Cart email. |
| Report | The report requirement is enabled when record-level evidence is needed. |
If this does not work
Section titled “If this does not work”| Issue | What to do |
|---|---|
| A required option is unavailable | Do not substitute an unrelated option. Submit a ticket to confirm support for the migration path. |
| No interrupted state is available | Leave Continue the previous migration disabled and select the correct migration action. |
| Newly added records are not detected as expected | Confirm the date of the last successful migration and verify that the records were created, not merely updated. |
| Target clearing is too risky | Disable the option and prepare a safer target environment or approved cleanup plan. |
| Images cannot be imported | Check source access, image URLs, format, size, and security restrictions. |
| IDs conflict | Remove or resolve the conflicting target records, disable preservation, or agree on a supported fallback. |
| Redirect behavior is unavailable | Prepare a target-side redirect plan and validate the required URLs separately. |
