Etsy API Connection
Prepare Etsy API credentials for a Next-Cart migration service when API setup is shown for Etsy.
Etsy API Connection
Section titled “Etsy API Connection”A valid Etsy API connection gives Next-Cart the authorized platform access required by the selected migration path.
Next-Cart may ask for Etsy application credentials, such as an API Key and API Secret. Prepare the credentials from the Etsy Developer portal, then enter the requested values in Next-Cart.
When to use this guide
Section titled “When to use this guide”Use this guide when:
- Etsy is the Source Platform or Target Platform in your selected migration path;
- Next-Cart shows Etsy API setup;
- you can access the Etsy account and developer area needed to create or view API credentials.
Prerequisites
Section titled “Prerequisites”Before you begin, confirm that:

Required values

Prepare Etsy API credentials
Section titled “Prepare Etsy API credentials”- Sign in to the Etsy account connected to the shop data.
- Open the Etsy Developer portal.
- Accept developer terms if prompted.
- Create a new app, or open the app created for this migration service.
- Enter the required app details, such as app name, description, and website details.
- Select the type and usage options that match seller access or shop-data access where required.
- Save the app.
- Open the app details.
- Copy the API Key.
- Copy the API Secret.
- Store both values securely.
Enter the values in Next-Cart
Section titled “Enter the values in Next-Cart”In the Next-Cart connection setup screen for Etsy, enter the values requested by the interface.

Expected result

Verify the connection

If the connection fails
Section titled “If the connection fails”| Issue | What to check |

| API Key rejected | Re-copy the API Key from the Etsy app details. |
| API Secret rejected | Re-copy the API Secret from the same Etsy app. |
| Wrong app | Confirm the API Key and API Secret belong to the app created for this setup. |
| Authorization blocked | Confirm the Etsy account has permission to authorize access to the shop data. |
| Scope or data access issue | Review the app settings and confirm the requested data is available through the connected Etsy account. |
Security cleanup
Section titled “Security cleanup”After migration work is complete and verified:
- revoke or remove the Etsy app if it is no longer needed;
- rotate any exposed secret;
- remove copied credentials from shared notes, tickets, or local files that are no longer needed.
